01 /Digital ear examination
I use digital otoscopy to examine your ear canals and eardrums. We’ll discuss your symptoms and ear history before deciding whether wax removal is appropriate.
An examination is useful when you’re unsure whether a blocked feeling or a change in hearing is caused by wax. I’ll explain my findings and any further advice needed.
If no wax removal is needed, the consultation and examination fee is £25.
02 /Microsuction wax removal
Microsuction uses a small suction device to remove wax under visual guidance. Treatment is offered after examining your ears and checking that it is suitable for you.
I’ll explain the process before starting. If wax is too hard, the ear is sensitive or treatment needs to stop, I’ll talk you through a plan for completing your care.
Free follow-up appointments are included until your wax removal treatment is complete.
03 /Hearing screening
A hearing screening check is available free after treatment. It can help identify whether further hearing assessment would be useful.
Screening gives an initial indication of your hearing. It does not replace a full diagnostic assessment by an audiologist or medical specialist.
If hearing concerns remain, we’ll discuss an appropriate next step.
04 /ENT & audiology support
Through the Tympa system, I can request remote advice and guidance from ENT and audiology professionals, and arrange referral where appropriate.
Where medical assessment is needed, I may also advise you to contact your GP. The route depends on your symptoms and the examination findings.
No additional fee for the ENT and audiology advice or referral service where needed. Response times and onward appointments vary.
